National Park Information Centre
Description of activities and services

The National Park Information Centre was established on 5 May 2002, thanks to the financial support of the National Forestry Board at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forests, the Civil Society Development Foundation, and the assistance of Bulgarian-Swiss Biodiversity Conservation Programme, BALKANI Wildlife Society, Vitosha Park Foundation, Directorates of Nature and National Parks in Bulgaria etc. Its main function is to provide information about protected areas in Bulgaria and throughout the world. The Centre organises exhibitions of parks: living and non-living nature, cultural and natural heritage. Here you can purchase tourist maps, books, leaflets, films etc. One of the priority activities is the provision of “Parks in Bulgaria” travelling exhibition to schools and kindergartens in the capital with a view to raising the awareness of the young generation.

Tourist Information Bureau - Apriltsi
Description of the activities of the centre and the services it provides

• Providing complete, accurate and current information on room availability in Apriltsi;
• Producing and distributing advertising material on tours offered in Apriltsi;
• Furnishing and providing current information on places of interests and routes;
• Providing information on bicycles and providing mountain bicycles;
• Organising one day and longer outings on horseback and suitable riding with a possibility of guides;
• Assistance with organising theme outings and excursions into the frontier of National Park “Central Balkan”;
• Renting skis;
• Organising visits to nearby local trained artisans to observe and to buy souvenirs;
• Excellent assistance with organising a pleasant stay for tourists and visitors;

Centre for Mountain Sport and Tourism – Momchilovtsi

Tourist Information Centre - Belitsa
Description of the activities of the centre and the services

The centre works in conjunction with the cultural centre in Belitsa, “Georgi Todorov”, with close ties to the municipal administration. Its basic tasks consist of collecting and distributing information from all sectors of the municipality, such as business, tourism, cultural history, ecological protection, etc. The centre works to prepare and realise projects in the role of a non-governmental organisation and in partnership with other organisations, as well as providing maps, selling crafts, and assisting visitors in transport and accommodation during their visit. Working hours: Mon-Fri 8.00 AM -5.30 PM

The centre is located in the building of the natural history museum in the centre of town. It is on the third floor together with the local crafts display, while the museum display is located mainly on the second floor. The information centre is located directly next to the crafts display, as some of its duties include advertising and selling local crafts.

Tourist Information Centre - Berkovitsa
Description of the activities of the centre and the services it provides

The Northwest Balkan Range is the land of carpets, monasteries and caves, of strawberries and raspberries. This region offers a magic nature and surviving traditions. The Tourist Information Centre in Berkovitsa will provide you with information about accommodation facilities, mountain paths or ski runs and invite you to a festival or organise an event especially for you.

Tourist Information Centre - Chepelare
Description of the activities of the centre and the services it provides

The Centre (TIC) was founded in 1998 as a branch of the Tourist Council – Chepelare and is entirely financed by the municipal administration. The Tourist Information Centre offers information about tourist sites and additional points-of-interest in the community and the region. The manager of the Centre represents the staff of the Tourist Association at national and international tourist fairs. TIC is responsible for the cooperation between private hotel owners and the municipal administration.

Tourist Information Centre - Chernomorets
Description of the activities of the centre and the services it provides

The Centre (TIC) provides useful tourist information about accommodation in the village and attractions and provides computer services including e-mail. Here you can buy books, postcards, road-maps and other informational materials.

The Centre provides information about:

• possibilities for excursions in the region – The Thracian temple in Starosel, Karlovo and Sopot, Kalofer, Koprivshtitsa, Plovdiv, Bachkovo Monastery;
